  • efficient assessment of self-esteem which is defined as the individual’s sense of self-worth and self-respect, being crucial for understanding people’s well-being and success. It is one of the most studied constructs in the social sciences. Self-esteem correlates positively with well-being, life satisfaction, positive affects, and engagement and satisfaction with one’s work. On the other hand, self-esteem is negatively correlated with negative affects, depression and anxiety, and risk for obesity. Together, self-esteem is crucial for understanding people’s well-being and success. The RSES is unidimensional and consists of 10 statements that are related to one’s feelings of self-esteem, self-competence, and self-acceptance
