pyruvate kinase muscle [isoform](English)
- a rate-limiting enzyme of glycolysis which converts phosphoenolpyruvate to pyruvate. PKM2 is an alternatively-spliced isoform of PKM which acts as a pyruvate kinase or signaling molecule based on its quaternary structure. PKM2 is cardioprotective in animal models of myocardial infarction and anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity
