coxsackievirus B3(English)

• shows strong endothelial cell tropism, but also infects cardiac myocytes, fibroblasts, and resident myeloid cells. Tissue tropism presumably depends on the relative expression of virus receptors. The two known receptors for CVB3 are coxsackievirus and adenovirus receptor and decay-accelerating factor (DAF also known as CD55)
