type I respiratory failure(English)
- respiratory failure can be defined as PaO2 <8 kPa (60 mmHg), or PaCO2 >6.7 kPa (50 mmHg) in a patient at rest, breathing air at sea level. In type I there is failure, with processes that impair oxygen transfer in the lung cause hypoxemia (acute or hypoxemic respiratory failure)
