protein kinase RNA-regulated(English)
- a stress-sensing serine-threonine kinase involved in the cell's response to viral infections, inflammation, and other cellular stresses. When activated by double-stranded RNA or other stressors, it phosphorylates the eukaryotic initiation factor 2α, which can lead to the inhibition of protein synthesis to halt viral replication. Its dysregulation is implicated in various diseases, including cancer, neurodegeneration, and inflammatory disorders
