LBPA

lysobisphosphatidic acid(English)

  • a minor lipid that is present only in lysosomes and secondary endosomes, where it seems to play an important role in controlling the formation of multivesicular bodies. It is isobaric with PG containing the same (or isobaric) fatty acids, which, together with the fact that abundant class-specific fragments are produced by neither lipid, complicates their analysis by the MS/MS method. PG and LBPA can be readily analyzed by using normal-phase LC–MS
