   • measured through transthoracic echocardiography as a novel parameter for estimating PCWP in challenging cardiac conditions such as mitral valve stenosis. The derived equation reads as PCWP = 36.8-5.5 x ln[LAEI]. Calculated as (Volmax -Volmin ) x100%/Volmin , where Volmax is defined as maximal LA volume and Volmin as minimal LA volume
