• discrete MIC distributions can be built for each population of bacteria based on the MIC frequencies, whereby the percentage of bacteria for which each MIC applies is treated as a frequency and values in between the MIC do not exist. The CFR is calculated over the MIC distributions using weighted summation. For comparative purpose, bactericidal pharmacodynamic breakpoints are defined. A regimen that achieves > 90% CFR against a population of organisms is considered optimal
