• homeobox protein located on the short arm of chromosome 12 (12p13.31) from 7940390 - 7948655. Forms homo and heterodimers with both co-activators (Oct4, Sox2) and co-repressors (NuRD, Polycomb) via its tryptophan-rich (WR) domain. Named after the mythological Celtic land of the ever-young, “Tir nan Og.”
