mixed aortic valve disease(English)

  • characterized by the coexistence of aortic stenosis (AS) and AR. The prevalence is significant, yet underreported. It is the most frequent combined valve disease, with a reported prevalence of 0.6% in adults older than 65 years, and represents an heterogeneous population with various combination degree of each valve lesion. Studies indicate that approximately 6.8% of patients with moderate AS also present with moderate or greater AR, while 17.9% of those with moderate AR have concomitant moderate or greater AS
