IFNγ

interferon gamma(English)

  • the biological actions of IFNγ can be attributed to its ability to activate or inhibit the expression of specific target genes. All biological actions of IFNγ require the binding to specific cell surface receptors, expressed on virtually all types of cells. IFNγ signaling leading to activation of gene expression proceeds via the JAK–STAT pathway, so named because it involves the activation of receptor-bound JAK tyrosine kinases, followed by the tyrosine phosphorylation and resulting activation of the signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 protein
