- technique for tissue characterization of plaques. It analyzes RF-signals by applying a fast Fourier transformation of the frequency components of the backscattered signals, thereby calculating the intensity of the signal measured in decibels (dB). Different tissue components exhibit the different RF-signals, which enable to differentiate various plaque components
