isovolumic time to heterovolumic time ratio(English)

• this index relates the sum of the isovolumic time intervals to the sum of the heterovolumic time intervals (ejection time and filling time), and therefore expresses the time “wasted” by the myocardium to generate and decrease LV pressure without moving blood (ie, without performing external work)
