2. high bone mass(English)

   • a sporadic incidental finding on routine DXA scanning of apparently asymptomatic individuals who may have an underlying skeletal dysplasia, as seen in LRP5 mutations. Findings are not always explained by artefactual causes such as osteoarthritis, the syndesmophytes of ankylosing spondylitis, or surgically implanted metalwork. May occur in Paget’s disease, certain malignancies and rare conditions such as myelofibrosis and hepatitis C osteosclerosis
