• test that tracks DNA markers from the donor organ that appear in the recipient’s blood. Injured or dying cells from the donor organ release DNA fragments into the bloodstream which can be detected in a blood test. Previous work found that higher amounts of donor DNA may indicate a higher risk for heart transplant rejection in the recipient
