acute decompensated heart failure(English)
- episode during the disease course of patients with heart failure, and associated with a high morbidity and mortality rate. The most common form of HF, representing 60–70% of AHF presentations in observational studies. These patients have a history of chronic HF and very often previous HF hospitalizations. Typically, they present with symptoms and signs of systemic congestion that worsen gradually. Since the main pathophysiological alteration is progressive fluid retention, signs and symptoms reflect increasing left and right filling pressures, with less often signs of hypoperfusion
