    • a highly orchestrated phenomenon that leads to bone modelling and remodelling in response to externally applied force. Alveolar bone remodelling consists of a process of catabolic bone resorption in the direction of the force (assuming translation) and anabolic bone formation opposite to the direction of applied force. The cellular and molecular process by which this remodelling occurs is hypothesized to occur either one of two ways: frontal (direct) resorption or undermining (indirect) resorption
