• this is not a measurement type, but rather a technology that allows for the 'estimation' of BP. Every OBP device is equipped with a unique and proprietary algorithm that enables a unique BP estimation for a given patiënt. Even devices rigorously validated to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) / Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) / International Organization of Standardization (ISO) Standard do not produce BP values that perfectly match the 'gold standard' reference methods of intra-arterial BP measurement or auscultatory BP estimation
