There are multiple definitions:
mitral valve prolapse(English)
- affects 1–2% of the general population and, in the absence of significant mitral regurgitation (MR), it is usually considered a benign degenerative disease

major vault protein(English)
- gene that encodes the major component of the vault complex. Vaults are multi-subunit ribonucleoprotein structures that may be involved in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport. The encoded protein may play a role in multiple cellular processes by regulating the MAP kinase, JAK/STAT and phosphoinositide 3-kinase/Akt signaling pathways. The encoded protein also plays a role in multidrug resistance, and expression of this gene may be a prognostic marker for several types of cancer

Million Veteran Program(English)
- established in 2011 to study how genes affect health in the Veterans Health Administration. Recent efforts demonstrate that this biobank provides the ability to aid genetic discovery for understudied vascular diseases with a higher prevalence among US veterans
