    • has been studied and considered as a simple, silent, bed partner-friendly, less invasive, tolerable, and efficacious choice for snoring and mild-to-moderate OSA. The current literature increasingly supports MAS as an effective alternative to CPAP for patients with mild or moderate OSA. MAS is anchored to dentition and holds the mandible in a forward, vertically open position, pulling forward the tongue base and stretching pharyngeal soft tissues. Therefore, they generate a continuously load to teeth and surrounding tissues by means of the traction forces exerted by the masticatory and mylohyoid muscles and soft tissue, which pull the mandible posteriorly into its habitual position, particularly during swallowing overnight. CPAP is more effective in lowering the apnea / hypopnea index and shows higher oxyhemoglobin saturation levels compared to OA therapy
