branch retinal vein occlusion(English)
- second-most frequent retinal vascular disorder. In the majority of cases, it occurs when a first- or second-order retinal vein focally occludes at an arteriovenous (AV) crossing, and results in the development of macular edema (ME) and a retinal nonperfusion area (NPA) under upregulation of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)
